Perak State Government Dissolves (Collapses) – BN claims power Feb 4, 09 12:12pm
My prediction on the 2009 Malaysia political scenario was published on 24 & 25 January 2009, in Kwong Wah Jit Poh光华日报 & Sin Chew Jit Poh 星州日报 respectively. The recent Perak State government instability matches my prediction. The following is the English translation of my prediction from the Chinese newspapers:-
Political Scenarios Feb 09 – Mac 09:
- Conflict of interests inside various political parties start to surface. These would cause political unbalance 失衡, which eventually leads to dissolution 瓦解 or termination.
- These include political parties in power, opposition parties and various Chinese associations or bodies.
- Conflict of interest surfaces 浮上水面. Antagonistic disputes are getting worse. Undercurrent political power struggle 暗流的权利斗争has become open fighting and public contest 台上的打斗.
- Hence, the old or existing alliance or coalition dissolves 旧联盟冰消瓦解.
- The formation of new union or coalition starts to take place. 新的结盟萌芽.
- Unethical, principle less 道义放两旁. Rivalry and Revenge 父子反目.
Gist: The Times produce their heroes. Whoever can depict the scenario blueprint of the times, can garner the various heroes/talents under his wing to serve his corporate interest.

The above prediction is evidenced by the facts that recently took place in Perak State. Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim accuses BN of trying to form government in Perak ‘by hook or by crook’. “We are pushing for dissolution of the state assembly and fresh elections in the state.”
‘PERAK GOVERNMENT FALLS’. Najib tells a press conference that Barisan Nasional has the support of the four former Pakatan Perak assemblypersons – three will be “BN-friendly” Independents, while Nasarudin will rejoin Umno. This statement reaffirms my prediction of“unethical, principle less, rivalry and revenge.”
The Menteri Besar of Perak, Mohd Nizar’s request to dissolve the state assembly following the resignation of three (3) Perak state representatives, namely Jamaluddin, Osman and Hee leads to dissolution of Pakatan Rakyat parties. Mohd Nizar leaves the palace after meeting Sultan Azlan Shah. He tells reporters that he has informed the sultan of his request to dissolve the state assembly. “It is now up to Tuanku (his highness),” he adds with a smile. The meeting lasted almost two hours.
According to Deputy Prime Minister, Najib Tun Razak, “An article of the Perak constitution provides that if the menteri besar loses the confidence of the assembly members, he is required to resign, together with all the exco members under him”. The circumstances above give opportunity for the coalition namely the BN to form a new government.
However the final decision now hinges on the Sultan of Perak – if he accedes to a Pakatan request for dissolution or allows BN to form the new government.
